Friend cant see animated gifs move?

I have a friend whos computer cannot see animated gifs. They simply come up as one still image. She has installed the newest version of flash but I cannot imagine that this is the problem anyway.

So any ideas on this?

Animated gifs don't rely on flash so that shouldn't be the issue. Which web browser is she using?

Internet explorer and I did just make sure that show animations was checked under internet options. I am having her download IE7 to see if it "self corrects."

IE7 can be buggy, so I would suggest using something like IRFANView.

Some ad blockers also block animations, don't they?

Yup, Privoxy (which I use personally) blocks gif animation, for instance.

OK. Thanks for the help. She has dialup and the culprit was an internet optimizer that came with dialup installer. Turned it off and boom, shit moves! :-)

Her internet is slower than ever but there you go!
