iTunes/Hard Drive Problem-Questions!
Okay, I know there has to be an easy fix for this it's jus that I can't find it.
I had recently made some changes to my setting to put some of my cds at MP3s (instead of MP4s) and put them on a small, portable hard drive. Ever since there, I cannot play my songs on my main external hard drive.
iTunes shows the hard drive songs there in the library. Under the edit/preference/advanced tab, it shows the iTunes Music folder location as the hard drive.
When I click on a song to play it, it says that the song cannot be located, the original file cannot be found and would I like to locate it. I click yes and it takes me to the iTunes music folder that is under "my music" under the computer's documents & settings section. I then change it to the external hard drive location, scrool thru the folders, find the particular song & click on it. iTunes then plays it fine and the song is now recognized/located the next time I boot up the computer.
But I don't want to go thru 50 gigs of music and have to search and click on every song separately to get them to play once more. There has to be an easier way but I have looked everywhere in the iTunes areas and also in the help section. I changed the settings back to the original MP4 settings (I believe).
Anyone had this problem before? Can it be easily repaired?
