I currently watch several tv shows a week on my laptop. Occasioanlly, I'll hook up my laptop to my hdtv using an S-Video cable. This, of course, results in suboptimal picture quality. What I would like to do is hook it up in 1080p using my laptop's VGA out. Unforunately, I don't have VGA in on my tv, only component. Whenever I looked for VGA to component setups, they almost always cost a few hundred dollars. Now I found the cable below for $17. I was wondering if it could be used, along with software to get the video timings right, to hookup my laptop to my tv in HD. Any thoughts? Thanks.
