PC TV tuner to capture video games and whatnot

I recently bought a toshiba laptop which came with USB 2.0 TV tuner; however, while playing a video game, this tuner processed the pictures so slow that I was not able to play the game, and thus capture my playing time on the laptop.

I wonder if anyone here knows of a good TV tuner for this purpose. By the way, I do have a desktop computer which I use mostly to play video games, but it does not have a TV tuner to capture console video games.
