Soundblaster 24 bit digital out, do I need the i/o module

I figured something out, with my eyestrain problems when using an LCD monitor I decided to use my new 32" TV for the same purpose.

Strange, but I haven't noticed the eyestrain I do with an LCD moniter.

Anyways, my 24 bit card offer digital output, but says you need a digital I/O adapter. This seems strange because the card has a 1/8" digital out.

Has anybody tried to use this port?? or do I need to buy the adapter??

Is that 32" TV LCD or CRT?

The digital out looks like the other jacks that take a regular headphone-style connector? If so, read this. I have an Audigy (2 ZS?) connected to a Cambridge Soundworks "receiver" through the mini-DIN and it works fine, aside from the mini-DIN connection being a little flaky. Sometimes I have to wiggle it when I lose the rear channels.
