Video optimization

Hey guys.. recently purchased a laptop and was looking at optimizing the video. I tried the THX opti section on my star wars disc but it was very hard to adjust the contrast...brightness..etc. They just dont seem to be having the desired effect. I'm sure this has been asked to death, but any suggestions...?

Re: Video optimization

have you looked into HUEY? It's a PC monitor calibration software/hardware combo.

I use a Spyder 2 for calibrating my monitors, it's probably the best until you get into the $500+ range.

Re: Video optimization

no worries:

http://www.colorvision.com/profis/pr...iew.jsp?id=101

It's a combination of hardware colorimeter and a software suite that can be used to properly calibrate a monitor, they also have some stuff you can grab off their site for using it with a htpc / projector combination as well.

There looks to be two versions now, an express and a plus. I purchased mine prior to this division so I can not say for sure what the difference would be aside from the $100 average price difference. It looks to be something worth googling around.
