By the way, a warning about widescreen LCD monitors: a lot of graphics cards won't support them in the "native" resolutions like 1280x768, 1440x900 and 1920x1080.

The newest ATI and nVidia chipset cards with DVI-D outputs do, though, provided you use the latest display driver.
For computer use, I'd rather stick with a 19" LCD at 1280x1024 resolution--most graphics cards can output to this resolution easily.
