Good Surround Sound Card with Optical

I'm looking to replace my current surround sound card with one that has optical and I'd like to know a hot one to shoot for. My goal is to hook my reciever up to the sound which will be connected to my 5.1 athena and svs setup. Now just to be certain, that does work right? My reciever will be able to pick up Dolby Digital and DTS signal with that connection and everything will work just fine?

I would go with a Chaintech AV710 it supports passthrough and is highly regarded as a good sound card for a HTPC (both on here and avsforum). I have one in my HTPC, and am ordering a second one for my recently built main PC (the built in sound in awful) Best of all its only 24.00. There are other good cards out there also, just the consensus seems to be avoid creative labs cards.

does Chaintech or anybody else have models with both optical and coax? I just realized my reciever only has 1 optical and 1 coax and i'd rather have the optical hooked up to an external DVD player.
