Windows Error Message

I keep getting this error message "Atlon 32" and it won't go away. I am using MS Windows 98.....could this be due to the recent virus, and how do I get it to go away?

I'm not finding anything referring to "Atlon 32". Are you sure of the spelling and is that the entire error message?

Not likely due to the recent worms...they generally only affect Windows NT based systems...NT...2000...XP, etc.

BTW...this may be better on the Computers and HTPC area.

Obviously there is more to the error message that "Atlon 32" (which I assume is a typo for "Athlon 32" - probably a reference to the PC's processor), but until you share it, there's really nothing anyone can do for you. You'll need to copy down the complete text of the error including whatever information is in the title bar of the error window before anyone will be able to offer a useful comment. And this does need to be in the computer forum.

Regards,

Joe

Undoubtedly because it's what he has and it's been working.

It could be a lot worse...at least it's not ME.

A Google search for SDKYR.DLL turned up a longish thread on a spyware discussion forum here. Without going into all the details revealed by HiJack This, I'd certainly take a stab a running some good anti-spyware programs on the system. Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad Aware are two top programs with free versions. Spybot contains an immunize function that actively protects your system from threats, but which does not update its spyware database automatically. Ad Aware (free version) doesn't actively protect your system or update itself, but it is very good at finding and removing threats. Microsoft Anti-Spyware actively protects a system and automatically updates both the program and the anti-spyware database. But I believe it is only available for Windows XP (and possibly 2000.)

Regards,

Joe
