need help making dvd's from avi files

I've been editing and burning dvd's of my home videos using Pinnacle Studio 9. However, I would also like to burn a raw master of the whole 8mm tape that was saved as an avi file during the video transfer. I've tried to figure out how to do it with Nero 6 with no luck. Can anyone tell me how to do it?
