Best color laser printer $1,000 and under?

Going for my first laser printer.

I much prefer the quality of text and professional
look that laser printers offer.

Anybody recommend a good color laser printer
under $1,000? I figure most go for that price
anyway.

Ron,

You should be able to find a very good color laser for around $599 before tax or shipping.

Patrick,

I dunno. Me thinks $600 will buy me
a toy. I am willing to spend a few
hundred more for a quality laser printer
that will serve my business needs.

Look into the Minolta Magicolor 2300DL. Good quality output and good speed plus it has a network card built in. Cost per page is a bit higher than other printers, but you can get it for a little over $600. Don't get the 2200, especially if you want to nework the printer.

I agree on the Magicolor, a couple people at work bought those for their offices and they like them much more then the expensive HP color laserjets we have. I like them too since so far I haven't had to spend hours on the phone with them to troubleshoot unlike with HP.

i have the 2200 with the network card built in. have no problems with it at all. toner is hard to find but since staples has that guarantee that they will have your toner and everytime i go there, they dont have it, i get $15 bucks off each cartridge they order for me. 2300 takes less space and is quieter. the 2200 has more features though. has the lower tray and multi use tray feature as well. i really love both printers and it just depends on how much you will use the printer.

*edit* 2300 costs less and toner costs less than 2200 if that will be a factor for you. otherwise, 2200 is faster and can handle more output.

Guys,

I am probably going to purchase the
Magicolor 5430DL

It may be overkill for what I need, but I always
opt to buy the best I can afford and this printer
looks like it will output exceptional quality color
text and graphics.
