time for a new video card? z2 problem

Hello all,

I've been trying for a couple of days to get my sanyo z2 and htpc to talk to each other, but it appears that they are not on speaking terms. I have a NXG enhanced performance dvi-d cable running between the z2 and an old GeForce2 MX 400 video card. I'm pretty sure the cable is good, if I have only the z2 plugged into the dvi and boot up the computer, I get the splash screen and the windows xp loading page, then it starts rebooting. I understand this is because the bios needs to see a vga device. The computer input screen on the z2's menu shows that it is getting a d-xga signal from the computer during boot-up, then nothing. I had the latest forceware drivers 61.77 loaded, and they really didn't work at all. I rolled back to my previous ones, and with the vga monitor and the z2 plugged in, I finally got windows to at least recognize that there was another monitor on the digital connection. It shows it as a plug and play monitor. No mater what resolution or refresh rate I feed it, the only time the z2 will recognize the computer input is in the description above, on boot up only. I was able to get the desktop running on the projector in safe mode, but that's just not gonna cut it.

Is this a problem with my video card? I know it's old and not the greatest, but I thought it would at least be able to work. I tried a few different resolutions and refresh rates listed in the user manual, and went through the troubleshooting section. It doesn't really help. I tried both PC Digital and AV HDCP inputs. I tried just about ever sequence possible for component start ups (pj first, then pc... pc first, then pj... pj powered on but not turned on, then pc... etc) and nothing.

The projector works fine with component inputs, and as I mentioned before, I can get an image on the projector (with no sparklies or distortion or anything) so I'm pretty sure the cable is good.

I'm running out of ideas, any help would really be appreciated.

Thank you

tONY
