Password Problem

I just received a used compaq that has an admin password on it. I do not know the password but would like to reinstall windows. Anyone know of anyway I can do that. I have an account to log on with but it has no admin access.

Boot the laptop with the Windows CD in the drive. You will probably need to enter the CMOS program and specify the CD-ROM as the boot device. The means by which to do this varies with each model, although hitting "DELETE" or "F1" during the first few seconds after turning on the power are very popular.

If your going to reinstall windows, you don't need to log onto windows, you can boot from the windows cd for reinstallation.

Now that Madboot prog is something I like the sound of. I think there might be something wrong with the cd drive because when I put the cd in and start it there is a horrible sound and then nothing.
