dvd copying question

I want to backup all my dvd's just in case some get scratched.

I have this drive:
Sony DRU-530A 8X Dual-Format DVD±R/RW Burner Writer Drive

What kind of blank dvd's do I need to buy to copy and not lose any quality?

Do I need to buy some kind of dual-layered discs?

Which discs are the cheapest and loses the least amount of quality (and will play in an everyday stand-alone dvd player)
