What video card for a big screen?

I'm building a HTPC for a friend. He's got the Sony 61" XBR® Plasma WEGA™ High Definition Television

What would be the best video card for that TV? No gaming, just internet and basic stuff?

I'm not sure for what purpose. If you've got that kind of nice screen though, you're best off to find an ATI 9700AIW or 9800AIW just for the high-def outputs

Sapphire Radeon 9600 would be ideal since it has no fan. 9200 if on a budget.

edit- Newegg link. DVI port for the tv.

I second the Radeon 9600. It was selling for as low as $90 with rebate when I bought mine. I run the DVI to my Sharp DLP and get great HD from the Microsoft WMV-HD "Coral Reef Adventure" DVD.

I have a Sony KP65WS500 and it's manual states the DVI port is not for use with computers. Does anyone know if this is just them covering the bases, or is there a reason my video cards (NVIDIA GForce Ti 4200) DVI out would not work with my TV? Could the TV get damaged by trying this hookup?

Thanks,

I think it's just a matter of researching what kind of output signal is needed to send to the TV. Before you do it make Powerstrip your friend, and research your set in the HTPC section of AVS.
