Question About Using Agent for UseNet

Just tried this and I am lost on a coupla things:

Can it be set up like Outlook to check for new headers at certain intervals? I looked EVERYWHERE in the Options..but no luck.

Are "Marked As Read" headers lost forever when closing the program, or can I make it (Agent) look online to see if they have been retained by the server?

Thanks in advance y'all!

I've been using Agent for years. It can't be set to get new headers automatically, but I've heard there is a utility available that can do that. Check out the newsgroup alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent, there's always some good information there.

I think there's a setting for retaining the headers, look under "purge" tab under whatever setup menu has it.(Group, Default Properties, When to Purge) Agent has so many settings, and I haven't fiddled with them lately.
