HTPC to Front Projector via RGB Connector

I would like to watch movies through my HTPC connected by the RGB monitor out to RGB in on a Front Projector...

Anyone done this ?

Is the picture quality as good as component in from a stand-alone DVD player ?

Depends on the projector but mostly, yes it will be as good if not even better than component.

In my case it made no difference over my stand alone no-progressive dvd player. I was hoping for an improvement via upping the resolution with powerstrip and a software player. No luck. Either my projectors line doubler is a heck of a good one or i was not using my setup properly. I could never tell for sure if the picture was actual higher resolution or not.
Thats been my experience withte htpc hype. A dud.

I'm using a mitsubishi xd200 which has the faroudja dcdi line doubler. Maybe i'll have to buy a high dollar progressive scan player to actualy see an improvemnt.
