Win2000 Logon Password help

I have a friend running a Win2K box. He and his wife use it at home. They had no logon page, and no password was required to get to the desktop.
This past weekend, his wife used it to dial up to her work, and that network required her name/password to logon.

Now, when the box boots, it comes up with the Logon screen, and the Cancel button is greyed out. Short answer- my friend can't log on.

How does one get rid of this?

Sounds like there is more to this story then what you were told by your friends since machines dont just lock themselves and require a password.

I would recommend that she try her work password since that is the only one she has used. Did they setup and Administrator on the box when it was installed? She could try logging in as administrator with the password being blank.
