Using Sony VW1xHT with a HTPC

I posted this question in the projectors forum but no
luck so far so I'll give ít a try here:

I read at the VW10HT FAQ that you can't get full resolution
, 1366x768, through a video card since the VW10HT will scale it to
1024x768 in 4:3 mode. Is there no workaround for this?
Is this also true for the VW11HT and the VW12HT?

I can't directly answer your question, but from my experience with the 10HT, if you have the Sony input set to 'computer' it will always shrink it to a 4:3 box. The only way to get full use of the 16:9 display is to output component video through an ATI video card, and use powerstrip to get the 16:9 ratio desktop. That along with setting the Sony to 'DTV' input fools it into thinking it is getting real DTV, and allows it into 16:9 mode.
I haven't heard anything about this changing on the 11HT or 12HT, but I can really only be sure about the 10HT.

Ok, that seems to confirm what I have heard.
Thanks for the input!
