Corrupted registry for DVD drive
Using Windows 2000.
Somehow my registry is hosed for the DVD-ROM/CDRW drive I'm using in a Compaq EVO N800c laptop. Is there anyway to fix the registry so that I can use this drive again? The drive is a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R2312.
What happened was I was installing the crap-ass Roxio Easy CD Creator Basic 5.31 software, and once I rebooted, the DVD/CDRW drive went buh-bye.
I've uninstalled the drive in the hardware manager, had it "find" the drive upon reboot, but everytime, I see a yellow "!" next to the DVD/CD-ROM drives listing for the drive. Windows says the registry is corrupted, and offers no good solution to fix it.
Any ideas on how to fix the registry?
