Chat Rules
Due to the high volume of participants, we find it necessary to enforce guidelines that will make our chat session an orderly one, where everyone will have the opportunity to have a turn in participating.

1. There will be a moderator of this live chat. That person will announce himself or herself at the start of the chat session.

2. The guest speaker will be introduced, followed by possible short remarks from that guest speaker. Afterwards, the moderator will announce that the chat session has begun.

3. Once the session begins, participants are asked to type the word "YO" (without parentheses) to indicate they wish to ask a question. The moderator will keep track of the exact order that people "YO" in, and will call out names in that order. Note: The order that the moderator has may not be the order that you have listed. He will call on you in the order in which he gets them on his end.

4. Very Important: Due to server lag and other variables, the order of names that vie for a turn will not be the same on YOUR end as it is on OUR end. Therefor, we have the final call on the order of turns based upon the "YO" order as it appears on OUR screen. Under any circumstances please do not private message the Moderator complaining your turn was missed.

5. When your name is announced by the moderator, you may ask your question. Please let the group know when you are done by typing "end", so that we may move on to the next participant.

6. If you have already had the chance to ask a question do not "YO" back in again until everyone has had a chance to ask a question. When everyone has had a chance to ask a question then you can ask a question again.

7. Please refrain from being disruptive to other people, and avoid typing in questions before your turn is announced.

8. Do not send any private messages to the guest during these chats. Doing so will get you kicked out of the chat.

9. Click on the "Go to Chat" button below. If you are already a member of the forum your username on the forum will be automatically put in. As in the forum we want people to know who you are. We don't want nicknames or bogus usernames being used and if used will be banned from the rest of the chat..

10. If you are not registered on the forum you will be signed in as a Guest with an associated number. Change this to use your first and last name by typing in your name in the Change Nick To box in the lower right hand corner of the chat window. Your name needs to be together without any spaces. ie: BobSmith instead of Bob Smith.

Click on "Yes" if you get a security popup window that asks if you want to trust the signed applet.

To get the best access to this chat it is recommended that you use an IRC client such as mIRC or Pirch. Note: if you use a MAC and are having trouble with the web side working for you go to Conversation or Ircle and download on of these programs.

If you use an IRC client you will need to connect to irc.shadowfire.org and join #htf using port 6667.
