Photo Essay of CEDIA EXPO 2006 in Denver, Colorado
Hi Everybody,
We are just a high-end audio shop in Boulder and, hey, CEDIA was going to be in our backyard and even though we are focused on audio, we have done so many show reports it just seemed natural to go fdown and take a few in Denver these last few days.
So, to make a short story shorter, we have put up a couple of hundred LARGE photos of CEDIA that you all might find of some interest. The goal is to make you feel like you are there - as opposed to providing any technial info.
Note to self: do not buy video hardware right before a show. I am just so glad we didn't get a Ruby last week, since the Pearl looks so promising. We did just get a Sony 26" XBR1 (I know opposite sides of the spectrum size-wise) which I hope will hold up against the XBR2 (is there even a 26" XBR2?). It is all so confusing at these shows - so much to see.
Anyway, its the shows that make me write meandering text - not my fault.
Requires a broadband connection or lots of patience:

Enjoy!
-Mike.

Awesome! Thanks so much! The best part for those of use who can't attend are all the photos of new gear that we get to drool over.
These shots really look great! What camera did you use? Canon?
Blu-ray & HD DVD - It's all about the movies!

Thanks Tim, Chris.
Yeah, a Canon (good guess :-)
The camera setup I used was a Canon 20D with a 580EX flash paired with a Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce. I used the Canon 16-35L lens on full-auto for the room shots and at f/11 with a shutter speed of 1/40 second at ISO 200 for most of the closeups.

OK, as burnout rears its purple little head, I just wanted to let everyone know that the show report is finished - we took 1200+ photos, of which 400 or so are in the report.
We also attended a number of demonstrations at the show and we added some comments in the final report about some of our impressions we had.
One of my favorite photos is this one:

Sony KDS-R70XBR2 SXRD Rear Projection Television Set through a magnifying glass. There is a much larger version in the show report, of course.
It was so gutsy for Sony to put this magnifying glass up in front of their set, IMHO.

As always, Enjoy!
