need help in choosing receiver

I need help in choosing a mid-priced receiver that "I hope" can take the following inputs and output to my tv via one hdmi cable:
hd cable box with hdmi out,
dvd with component out
WII game console with component out
XBox 360 with component out.

I also need to know if all the audio from the above devices will play through the receivers speakers.

I'm REALLY new to this and I sincerely appreciate any help anyone can give (my 14 year old son is emphatic about his game consoles playing in surround sound!)

My price range for the receiver is between $500 and $700. I also could use a tip on a decent 5-speaker system. Thanks again!
