Blu-Ray vs DVD

I guess I'm confused. If Blu-Ray is going to become the standard, what's going to happen to all my DVDs on my shelf when I get a BluRay player? Shall I just put them in the trash pile now along with my Beta tapes?

Re: Blu-Ray vs DVD

No. Your Standard DVDs will play just fine on a Blu-ray player. They'll probably look even better if you get one that does a good job at upconverting.

Unlike Beta or VHS, Blu-Ray is backward compatible with DVD. DVD will play fine in your new player.
