Home Theater Setup Question
I've got an existing home theater system, which was actually a home theater in a box system which I got about six years ago. The receiver is a Kenwood VR-606. It has a digital optical and digital coax input. I was considering replacement of my tube TV to get a HD TV. I was thinking that this change would require a new receiver which then might mean new speakers.
Here is what I have right now. I have a component connection from the TV to the DVD player. The audio for the DVD player is digital optical which is connected to the receiver. As for my cable box, it is actually an HD box so it has HDMI inputs, but the audio for the cable box is digital coax going to the receiver. The video for the cable is a composite connection from the box to the TV.
Would I be able to get a new TV and still be able to use the DVD player and receiver and then replace those over time? I'm trying to decide between a Sharp Aquos 42" and a Sharp Aquos 46"
