Mark Hendrickx Member Location: Chicago Join Date: Nov 2003 Local Time: 04:58 AM Local Date: 10-14-2008 Posts: 29	Samsung LNT4053 vs LNT4071 Hey all, I have been a member of HTF for a number of years and have always been more focused on the audio side and settled with my 27'' Sony CRT, but I am finally going hi-def. I am debating between the Samsung LNT4053, which would cost $1079 and gets fairly good reviews but the contrast ratio is only 8000:1, which, on paper, seems weak, and the resolution is 720p. The Samsung LNT4071 would cost $1700 and would be be full HD 1080p, and the contrast ratio is 25,000:1; the reviews I have read of this tv are stellar. I don't know if I would need the higher resolution for several years, since I won't buy a blu-ray player/new dvd's until the prices come down, plus broadcast won't be in 1080p anytime soon, but at the same time, it is nice to prep for the future to an extent, as I would expect to keep this tv for at least five years. If you have had experiences with either of these tv's, can you please chime in? I greatly appreciate your help. Best, Mark
