Good luck with this one

The picture on my fathers 52" SOny wega hd tv when he is using the dvd palyer is pink. Let me expain first. Me and my dad have the exact same dvd palyer(sony dvd-ns75h) the same receiver Onkyo Txsr803 and the same tv I'm not sure the model number. 52' Sony wega. The only difference in his tv then mine is his has a dvi input instead of a hdmi input like mine. Anyway right now he has a diect tv hd dvr and this sony dvd player. He has the direc reciever running coponets to the tv. The dvd player is a hdmi to dvi going to the tv. Everthing is fine sound and looks. But he wants to connect his HT up like mine is. I run my direc tv reciever and my dvd player through my onkyo receiver because it has 2 hdmi inputs and one hdmi output. He wants to eliminate all the extra wires like I did. My setup is great. But when I went over there today and hooked his up EXACTLY like I have mine with hdmi from the direc receiver and hdmi from the dvd player going into the onkyo and then a hdmi/dvi cord to the tv. But the direc reciever picture is good the dvd player is horrible. The picture is a bright pink all over the whole screen. I have his settings on the tv and the settings on the dvd player exactly like mine are. I thought maybe that one of the hdmi inputs where bad on the onkyo. So I swithched dvd and direc reciever to see if the direc reciver's picture would be pink and it's not, so that wasn't the problem. What would make his picture pink on the dvd player? I am at a total loss. I really hope some of you guys can help me out. Thank you very much

Did you switch the HDMI cable on the DVD player? Try hooking up the DVD player directly to the TV with the long HDMI cable from the receiver. If the image is still pink - the DVD player has a problem. If it looks good, suspect the cable you have running from the DVD player to the receiver.

When you see a pink picture it's usually because the DVD is set to output component/S-video instead of composite.
