HTIB help? Virgin Buyer

Thats right first time buying any home audio system over 100 dollars...

My living room is about 15x20. The couches/chairs are 10 ft to 13ft from the TV. We have a 42inch Samsung 1080p HDTV setup in a corner with plenty of HDMI and component slots to fill.

I'm looking for a home theater system less than $800. Given the size of the room and location of the seating area I'm thinking we might have to go with the front/rear speaker system. Preferably something not too bulky, and something nice enough to appease the wife, which i believe is small and black (or stainless looking??)

It doesn't necessarily have to be HTIB, I'm capable of rigging it up on my own. I just need some expertise in which direction to go.

Any help at all??

What models/brands do you think might work with my situation??

I've read some reviews from CNET, but some consumers thought otherwise...

Re: HTIB help? Virgin Buyer

Here's a very nice system, for an HTIB. It costs less than your budget allowed. It's available in silver or black.

That will leave enough money for a good dvd player. They have the Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD player, which outputs 720p/1080i. See it here:

Add another $100, and you can get the Toshiba HD-A30 HD DVD player, which outputs 720p/1080i/1080p. See it here:

Good luck with whatever you get.
