100 ft HDMI run question + HDMI video card question.
Hi folks. Got a couple quick questions:
I work at a college language lab and we've just installed a small (26") LCD TV in the hall that we want to use for displaying information and slideshows related to our department and departmental activities. We'd like to feed a signal to the monitor from our main office, and we're talking about a 100 ft run.
1) I'm seeing cheapo HDMI cable for about $99 for that length. Is there any need for repeaters and such for 100 ft lengths?
2) Any advice on a cheap video card with HDMI out to drive the monitor? We'll mostly be displaying looping PowerPoint presentations on the Monitor as well as foreign language TV shows. However the TV shows will be supplied via coax cable running directly into the TV, so I only need to feed a computer signal to the monitor. Are there HDMI out video cards that also direct the computer's sound signal through the HDMI port?
