60-pin splitter to DVI-D

I've come across a cable splitting a 60-pin output into two female DVI-D connectors. I've not used/owned anything outputting 60 pins - what typically does this? DVD players? What is 60 pin commonly used with/for? Is it an HD signal or...?

Thanks much

Can you link to a pic of the plug? I think I may have seen a plug of that sort on a PC video card...I didn't count the pins, but it had a lot, and there was a cable to connect two DVI monitors.

Sorry, I don't have a picture of the thing, but it does look like what you are describing (it's all pins, and there are a lot of them). It's similar to a regular DVI connection, except with four rows of pins and no "cross" area.

A PC video card, that might make sense. Probably a high-power gaming card? I'd like to incorporate an HTPC into my setup...

Yeah, it may have been that...this was a couple of years ago, so I don't remember exactly what it looked like. It was a professional video card (NVIDIA Quadro or something to that effect), not a gaming card.

Something like this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm... ard+-+Retail
