Question re: RXV2600 Zone 2/3
I have a Yamaha RXV2600 set up in my main living area as a 5.1 system. I am using the presence speaker terminals to power a pair of Polk Audio Atrium 55 speakers on the back porch. It works without any trouble if I want to listen to the tuner or a CD outside while watching TV inside. However, I haven't found a way to listen to the SAME source at the SAME time both inside and outside. What am I doing wrong?
Also, I haven't been able to listen to Digital Cable Radio on the outside speakers. I think this might have something to do with not being allowed to send a digital signal to Zone 2. I currently have the cable box audio output going into the optical audio input of the receiver. Could I get around this issue by using analog RCA cables to connect the cable box sound to the receiver? Can I use analog AND digital cables at the same time, so the receiver uses the digital signal for the main zone and the analog signal for zone 2? I would appreciate any help you can provide. If these questions have already been answered somewhere else in the forum, I haven't been able to find it.
Thanks,
Mike
