simple construction idea for center speaker

I purchased a 52inch Mitsubishi WD52631. It will go against a wall in a new house.

The problem is that while I have left and right speaker stands and a SVS sub woofer, WHAT do I do with the center speaker!!! There is no room on top of the TV!

Do I put a small shelf above the TV? is there a way I can make this look not . . ."cheap"? I'm certainly not a carpenter but there must be something I can do so it will not look like a board on a wall!

Suggestions? photos? ideas??

plus - any reviews on the above TV??

Hello Brian,

You can buy a nice stand for it. The link below goes to the stand that SVS has for center speakers.

Thank you,
Don

Can the center speaker sit below the screen?

THAT is a good question. For some reason I feel the sound coming from the bottom would sound . . . . . weird. Would it????

Don T - put the stand behind the TV and have the speaker stand sit on the TV stand??

As you can see I have never researched the problem (just put the down payment on the TV Sunday, moving into new house June 2)

Yes, the center channel can sit below the TV. It will sound just as "weird" as if it were sitting above the TV. You just have to angle it up or down depending on the location. The ideal spot is behind an acoustically transparent screen but very few of us have that luxury.

As you can see in this picture, my center channel sits right below the projector screen. My old sub and current sub amp are tall enough to make a temporary stand.

I too have my center channel below the screen on a little stand I made. Sounds fine to me. You can see my stand on this page
