Connection problems

Hello!

I'm currently going completely crazy.

DVD: RGB Output, Scart Output (regular, no RGB)
Sat: RGB Scart output, and Composite

TV: AV1, AV3 and AV4 and AV2 is an output for Video or SVideo, sadly no RGB
Beamer: RGB, SVideo, VGA, HDMI, Composite

(I'm not even going to include mediapc, dreambox, PS2, Wii,...)

I want to be able to watch both DVD and SAT on both devices, the TV and Beamer.

So, I thought I was smart, and was going to connect it as follows, making use of this box: marmitek.com/en/catalogus/subgroep.php?subgroep=52#

THe device says all over the package, connect ALL devices, and use ONE cable to your TV.

I wanted to connect the SAT and DVD on that box, and use the RGB output to connect to the projector, and the SVideo to connect to the TV, using a Svideo to Scart adapter (you know, the scart connectors with an in/out switch on them).

Well guess what, doesn't work. All signals are processed transparently in said box. Which literally means, if you connect RGB in SLOT 1, you HAVE to use an RGB cable to your TV. That also means, if you connect SVideo to slot 2, you HAVE to use an SVideo cable to your TV.

How moronic is that? What on earth is the use of this box? I feel so extremely cheated. If you see the packaging, it clearly gives the impression of being able to connect RGB, Scart, Composite or SVideo, and use whatever you want from the 3 available outputs. You would expect that the picture is available at all 3 outputs.

So, please, please, how can I solve this problem? (keeping in mind that there is lots more equipment waiting to be connected). I'm sorry for sounding frustrated, I just am. Thanks a lot for any feedback on the matter.

What’s a Beamer? Where I live, a Beamer is a BMW.

Re: Connection problems

He mentions a projector...so I'm guessing "Beamer" = projector.

Re: Connection problems

Why not just connect:

DVD component (RGB) to projector and the Scart to the TV.
SAT component to projector and the composite to the TV

Then you could use the fancy switch to control the component input (DVD or SAT) to the projector.
