Advice needed on rear speakers
What I have:
KEF Q50 front speakers
KEF Model 90 center speaker
Mirage BPS-100 sub
Sony STR-DG800 receiver
What I want:
KEF IQ8ds rear speakers
What I don't want:
To shell out $600 for said rear speakers
I'd like to keep this in the $200-$300 range. My wife would really like to keep it in that range.
I thought about something like the KEF IQ1s, in which case I would designate the rear speakers as "small" in the receiver setup and then set the crossover point accordingly. This would seem to serve as a decent tradeoff.
We watch movies and sporting events through our Comcast HD box (DVI to HDMI) and 46-inch rear-projection Toshiba TheaterWide HDTV. I do have an old Yamaha CDC-745 changer, but right now I'm playing CDs through my allegedly upconverting Toshiba DVD player. Seems to sound good.
Overall thoughts? Tips? Concerns?
