Re: confused
I will haft to say I am bias toward the Pioneer. I have a Pioneer receiver and so do many of my friends. All work descent and out of five different versions function with any hiccups. Do not get me wrong the Yamaha is also a good choice and should be consider. I would pick the one with the best power rating versus range versus THD. I am unsure what might peak your interest (gaming, movies, or music) so to cover the field I would pick 3-way towers or bookshelf speakers with at least a 6.5 or 8 inch woofer for left and right. The center channel needs to be a MTM(mid/tweeter/mid) set up with at least a 5 to 6.5 inch midranges. For surrounds I would suggest the dipolar from MCM part #50-6855. It works descent and will not break the bank. Hope this helps.
