Help with Video Connections
I just purchased an Onkyo Tx-SR504 receiver, an Onkyo DVD DVSP404 and an Onkyo DS-A2 iPOD Dock and need help with the video connections.
I have a sufficient number of Composite and Component Video Cables to do the connection either way.
I want to use OSD (on screen display) for the receiver, the dvd and the iPOD docking station. The iPOD docking docking station menus on the tv are an important item, the tv is a 15 inch flat lcd.
The dvd and receiver will accept both composite or component video cables.
However, the DS-A2 will accept only Composite Video cables.
Option #1: use composite cables for dvd, receiver and iPOD docking station.
Option #2: use a component cables from dvd to receiver, a component cable from receiver to tv and using a composite cable from DS-A2 docking station to the tv and hook the Ri connection from the docking station to the receiver.
I want to use the Ri connection fbecause of the menu OSD on the tv.
I am not sure, but, I am under the impression that the only benefit of the composite video cable on the DS-A2 docking station is to send downloaded images, photos and files from the iPOD to the tv. Sending these images is not a priority.
Your suggestions and input will be appreciated.
