I’m not sure if there are Y connectors, but you can purchase switches that will allow you to select one optical input or another. There are some very inexpensive mechanical ones on the market.

Re: Digital Optical Cable - Y connector?

I bought one a few years ago to hook up my PS2 and Xbox to a single optical input on my receiver. It's marketed as a splitter but I use it in reverse with no problem. It's like this one here: http://www.trianglecables.com/pof-810.html

Re: Digital Optical Cable - Y connector?

Instead of trying to Y it would be better to get a simple Optical Switch like this one...

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=180-980

There is a Y available at....
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...=SEO&U=strat15

But the switch is the recommended way to go.. as long as your not running both at the same time the Y backwards will work.
