Calibrating 7.1 HTIB

I purchased an Onkyo HTS780 and would like to properly calibrate the speakers. is there a dvd that can help? I can get my hands on a sound meter.

Ovation's Home Theater Tune up is the least expensive one and it has 6.1 tones. You can do this with just the receiver's tones and an SPL meter though. I calibrated one of these systems and it was pretty straight forward; I believe it uses 75dB tones.

When I bought the Onkyo HTIB (HTS780) I didn't expect much from the speaker package, although I think the subwoofer is nice. I actually liked the sound of my old Bose. I know, I know, Bose aren't big with this community but nonetheless, i thought it sounded better. I've had the notion of reusing my bose with the HTIB. Will it make a difference?

Most Bose speaker systems are a much lower Ohm system than stardard 8 ohm speakers. I believe (don't quote me on this) most are like 2 ohms or less.

Wouldn't be a good idea.

As with most if not all Bose equipment, it's either all or NONE.
