Dual layer discs

2 Questions:
1) Can anyone explain what dual layer discs means? (Just recently purchased the Mulan SE DVD)

2) Are dual layer discs more prone to disc pausing when viewed, and if so how?

I'm not a big technical expert so someone can probably give a better answer, but...

1. It's the equivalent of one DVD on top of another: double the space, etc.

2. It depends on the disc. When the layer changes, some discs make the transition smoothly. Others pause for a second or two.
