I am attempting a HT setup and currently have access to the company Dell 2100 projector,
Which I am using for 'testing'.
The plan is to eventually buy an NEC lt240k, which is an XGA projector.
My current DVD player is not progressive scan.
Would I get the benefits of PS with that projector?
How about with the Dell (SVGA)?
Also, the plan is to get a Harmon Kardon AVR 125 Receiver.
I currently have 2 Aiwa (Edit: I meant Akai) floor speakers (20" bass, midrange, and tweeter in each)
That will serve as the L/R channels and should initially take care of the sub functions.
Then add center/surround/dedicated sub as finances come available.
The throw distance will be about 13.5 to 15 feet. Viewing distance will be about 10 feet.
I figure that will give a diagonal of about 100".
The room is about 15x20 and ambient light can be kept down, but not eliminated (during day).
Does this sound like a decent plan? Would anyone recommend any changes?
These components are already pushing the budget limits, so I couldn't really spend more.
But if there are better products for the same price I would love to hear about them.
Will this even produce a good HT experience?
I'd hate to spend the cash and be dissatisfied with it in the end.
That’s why I am not going with the HT-in-a-box set up.
On a side note I am getting some sound sync problems at the moment with the little shelf
audio system I am using now. Why is that? Is it the DVD player or the receiver?
