Now if you're one of those folks who don't feel it's right to use a scanned coupon--well I respect your decision...but if you have no qualms about doing so--have at it!

And if you do plan to use it but are concerned as to whether stores will accept it--assuming that they'll have the lowest B&M prices, Walmart self-checkout is your best friend.

Well...there's nothing on the coupon that says "don't accept scans or copies."

It seems to me it would be okay.

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Re: Instant $10 off coupon for National Treasure 2 BD

"Do not double" means something completely different from using a scanned or printed copy. That's telling the retailer not to double the $10 deal if they are running a "double manufacturer coupon" deal.

Usually a coupon will say very specifically, 'Do not accept scanned or copied versions of this coupon"...or something to that effect.

This actually looks, to me, to be an internet coupon...which, of course, NEEDS to be printed in order to be used.

Re: Instant $10 off coupon for National Treasure 2 BD

Well, it's definitely a scan of the original coupon found inside the National Treasure 2 DVD. Disney's done the "$10 off the Blu-ray for those who buy the DVD first" deal on a few titles now. Dan in Real Life, No Country for Old Men, Enchanted . . . I'm sure there are others. It's intended to induce those who bought the DVD to consider upgrading to Blu-ray, with $10 off to take some of the sting out of buying the title again. It's also useful for people that want to entertain their kids with the DVD in the portable player or bedroom machine, while reserving the Blu copy for the home theater.

It's not an original Internet coupon. Though not definitive proof by itself, the fact that it's hosted at a clearly non-Disney URL is another red flag.

So like the OP said, it comes down to where you fall on the ethical side of things.

EDIT: It also says "Coupon may not be reproduced..." So that means . . . ???

I must have read that coupon five times and NEVER saw that!

There it is. That settles that. I stand corrected. Thanks, Bryan!

Now I'm just speaking strictly from a hypothetical standpoint, so...for the sake of argument let's "assume" that the NT2 coupon is one that can be legitimately obtained from the Internet (i.e., it has to be printed from a site). Does the fact that the coupon explicitly states "No Reproductions" automatically disqualify one from being permitted to print it? I say this because there are indeed some legit Internet coupons that include this same disclaimer--matter of fact, I have a Blockbuster e-coupon right in front of me that states any reproduction is prohibited.

Like I said--whether folks choose to use this coupon or not is up to them; I didn't post it as part of some ethical witchhunt...

There is no question in my mind. Use of that coupon reproduced on the internet is fraud, period. The coupon is offered for owners of the "National Treasure 2" DVD and the original coupon that comes with that DVD is the only one that is not reproduced. I won't use it. Will Disney even reimburse Wal-Mart? I would guess the answer is yes, but I don't know.

If you are buying both NT titles, you are probably still ahead to buy the amazon two pack for $40 vs BM + the coupon + tax + gas.

What does that mean? If Wal-Mart accepts it, it isn't fraud? If Wal-Mart doesn't accept it, it is only attempted fraud is how I would look at it. If accepted, it is actual fraud. If you believe I am wrong, enlighten me. I love great deals and jump on all that I believe are legitimate, I don't even have to be absolutely certain the deal is legitimate. I am absolutely certain this one is not.

It may seem silly to some, but coupon sales are pretty big on eBay.

I paid about $2.00 total for the $10/off Enchanted coupon, so I got an effective savings of $8 off the Wal-Mart price. My Jiminy Cricket was appeased.

Buyer's happy, seller's happy . . . and there's no concern about the authenticity of the coupon.

I don't know about eBay but the Disney Reward codes are big sellers at various sites. I am buying a lot of Blu-ray discs and using my codes but I would likely have been better off just to sell the stupid things. Although I have purchased quite a number of discs, I am only at a little over 3,000 points and I can't fnd anything worth acquiring at the site for that amount.

Yes, I see the coupons offered for sale on eBay and that valid coupon is fine.
