A J&R Weekend Sale on Blu-ray discs and Criterions. Ends 4-20-08.
J & R has a weekend sale on some Blu-Ray discs and Criterions. Ends Sunday.
Nine horror BDs for $11.99 apiece.
And, eleven concert music BDs on sale.
Not Blu-ray...but a bunch of Criterion titles are also on sale. Some good prices are mixed in with some not-so-great prices.
There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Which ones of the concert BDs do y'all recommend? I think I might go pick up a couple. ;D Heard some good things about the Dave Matthews one, but I have no clue about his music. Is the John Legend one any good? Again, I'm not familiar w/ his music.
Thanks for suggestions -- and thanks, Mike, for the thread.

Man: Great questions...I actually checked out on-line reviews of both of those discs (Legend and Matthews) because of this deal. But, even though both seemed to rank VERY high for both SQ & PQ, I just don't know enough about the music to warrant a blind buy. I'm considering the Springsteen DVD...because I actually have heard the music the boss was performing at that time (kind of a novelty collection of older American folk songs). But, in that case, I have heard that the PQ & SQ are nothing to rave about. In fact, I have read complaints about the PQ. Go figure.

Yeah, I took a quick look at the Springsteen BD on HD Digest, and not flattering at all. Oh well...

The horror BDs and Criterion DVDs are still on sale today, but not the concert BDs.

Aaron,
Apparently, you can get the concert BDs at the same sale prices (w/ free shipping to boot) over at Amazon -- unless Amazon has also bumped up their prices.

Well...the Springsteen disc jumped up to $15.95...from $10.95. But it HAD been $16.95 before. Go figure.

Looks like Amazon bumped their prices back up across the board for these concert BDs -- maybe they were just a reaction to the J&R weekend sale for all I know. Oh well...

I would definitely assume so. Seems like too much of a coincidence not to be.
I opted not to order anything. I ended up spending more on discs this weekend than I should have (ain't that ALWAYS the way?!).
But I'm still lovin' the fact I got the 5-disc Blade Runner set for $19.99 at CC. Surprised amazon hasn't dropped the price on that set this week!
