Re: Rounding-up the Round-ups

But, Tony...why?! Do people really go back and look at old RoundUps?

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Re: Rounding-up the Round-ups

Oddly enough, I was thinking of looking back at them to compare the prices of two disc sets vs. one discers just last night.

Re: Rounding-up the Round-ups

i do.

one prolem i have found with release date lists is they don't list the dates of
dvds that are already out.

just look in the hd software area here.
there is a giant list of movies released on br and hd dvd but the only thing with a date are upcoming movies.

sometimes i just like to know what came out and more specifically, when.

the roundups do that nicely

Re: Rounding-up the Round-ups

So you have all for 2008. They should make it a sticky and keep it up for 2008. Then in 2009, start a new thread. Just a thought!

Re: Rounding-up the Round-ups

A lot of times I'll let a stack of catalog type titles pile up that aren't locally available and then put in a collective order at the end of the month. The round-ups are nice way to check what has been released since most release lists roll off at the current week.

Re: Rounding-up the Round-ups

Okay, maybe I'm dating myself with this question (and it might pre-date Mike and go back to David) but what was the phrase that was often confused for Round-Up which PO'd whichever one of them was making it at the time? Round-out? Wrap-up?

Carlo: I have no recollection of that which you speak. And I don't think the RoundUps can pre-date me, cuz even though Dave was putting them together, I think I remember them starting.

Another way to find out release dates for just about any dvd is dvdspot.com (where I have my collection listed). I checked my collection by release date and found my oldest discs to be Maverick, Beetlejuice & Eraser on 8-22-97. All in dire need of a SE. Can't believe all 3 have only gotten one release in 11 years. But I digress.
