Word of warning though... I bought a Maxtor drive years ago and sent in the rebate. Never saw the money. I think many people had the same problem. But this was years ago and Maxtor might be better by this point.

Looks like the same drive that was on sale a while back at Best Buy with a nice rebate, advertised as 100 + 20 gb. Just be aware that in addition to the small cache, this drive has a warranty of just one year. I have bought three Maxtor drives with rebates in the past two years and had no problem with the rebates.

I should mention my problem was about 4 or 5 years ago. Looks like they have a great operation in place now where you can track your rebate online and also call if you don't receive it by the specified date. Looks like this old dog learned a lot of new tricks!
