Best "do it all" universal remote

I need a universal remote that will handle my cable box, Plasma TV, home theater and HD DVD... It's gotta be simple enough for dummies and somewhat affordable... My wife is about to toss everything, cause she can't operate it all... Me too... HELP!!! Tom

After reading all the stuff that I can find here, It'll be a Harmony 659 at $60.00 or 670 at 97.50 delivered... Any input would be appreciated.... Thanks guys... Tom

Tom

I have tried every remote I could get my hands on including the Pronto which I love but the wife could never figure it out no matter how many macros I created.

Harmony remotes are the answer. My wife can do anything on the system by herself. It knows what is on, what is off and which ones should be on and off. If a command doesn't get through (like the TV doesn't turn on) all she has to do is hit the help button and it fixes the problem for her by asking simple yes and no questions (is the TV on? Yes/No)

You and more importantly she will love it.

If the price isn't a deal breaker I'd go for the 670. The problem with the 659 is that the transport buttons are at the bottom of the remote. If you have a DVR or the like & are frequently hitting FF / play / skip forward etc. to maneuver past commercials, it's kind of awkward. The 670 places them in an easier to use central location. Also it has more transport buttons (both FF/REW & chapter skip) if I remember correctly.

You should be happy with your purchase. Harmony Remotes have the highest WAF of any universal remote I've ever seen. My wife's been happily using our 659 for 6 years now.
