Outdoor Antenna Suggestion

I'm looking for suggestions for the type of outdoor antenna I need for a friend's vacation home. I think he needs an outdoor, ampified, directional UHF/VHF but wanted to run it by some others that have more knowledgable than myself. Any specific model or brand recommendations would also be greatly appreciated. I read on here that many feel Turk stuff is overrated? Thanks for the help. Sorry for the cluster of info, wouldn't transfer very easily.

Re: Outdoor Antenna Suggestion

Turk is junk.

I have a Channel Master CM4221A (google for online shopping) and it's a very good antenna for UHF and HD channels. VHF and FM radio will not be picked up, but I believe VHF is only used for analog broadcasts, very few digital stations are broadcasting on VHF.

Currently there are a few digital stations broadcasting in VHF but in 11 months a LOT of them are switching their digital signal back to their original channel frequency. I've already heard from the local Fox engineer that they are switching from channel 40 something back to channel 13 on the cut-off date. They even have a digital transmitter installed and ready to turn on. The FCC has a page that lists each station and its broadcast frequency after Feb of next year.
