Old Aiwa on New LCD

I just bought a new Samsung LCD HDTV (LNT4665F). I was wondering if I should bother setting up my 8 year old Aiwa CX-NMA845 300watt 7 channel multi speaker system. It has Dolby 5.1 and prologic. I will eventually purchase a new Home Theater system. I am considering a samsung HT-X70. Is it worth hooking the Aiwa up? what cables are needed for 5.1 channel setup? I had it hooked up to a projection TV using the prologic before. Thanks a lot for reading.

I personally think that hooking anything up while you are saving up is worth it. I am relatively new to this too, I think all you need is optical for 5.1...but I could be wrong.

Yeah.........set it up.
To get 5.1 you'll need an optical or digital coax cable, whichever your source has the output for. Your standard channels on tv, will be pro logic. HD, some premium movie channels, some PPV channels, and dvds can be in 5.1
