Expert advice needed on type of video connection to my projector
Hi,
This is my first post and I think this is the correct section for my question. Up until now, I’ve been a backyard theater enthusiast. Since it’s getting cooler out, I want to set up my projector inside as part of a home theater. I cannot afford a second projector, so, I’m going to use my Optoma MovieTime DV10 inside. Since this is going to be a theater room, I’m going to suspend the DV10 from the ceiling. The down side to the DV10 is you cannot mount it upside down and display it right side up. Since I can’t do that and it will be suspended from the ceiling, I won’t be able to use the build in DVD player. Here’s what I plan on doing.
I plan on getting a separate DVD player with component outputs (red, green, blue) and run a component cable up the wall and drop it out of the ceiling into a component to vga adapter and plug the adapter into the vga. I also plan on using the vga from the Wii to the projector since it has vga ouputs too. Is that my best option? The projector has the following inputs and outputs… USB, RS232, VGA-in, S-video, composite video, RCA audio-in, and two audio-out ports.
I’m not a purest but I do want to be able to have a decent viewing experience.
Thoughts/opinions/questions/comments?
Thanks!
Glen
