Splitting my HDTV OTA signal

I have a Channel Master 4221 antenna connected to my STB with RG-6 cable. It's a long run from my roof to the basement.

I'm considering adding HDTV to another TV in my house. Can I just split the signal and run it to another STB? Or will I most likely need to get an amp?

It depends on signal strength (how close/far you are from the transmitting towers). So, try it with just a splitter to the 2 STBs, and if the signal is strong enough, you're okay. Otherwise, you may need to introduce an amp in the signal path in between the antenna to the splitter.
