Hello,
I recently upgraded my Pioneer Elite DV-37 player with a DVD-79Avi.
The player is having problems with about 1 out of 5 of the movies I rent from Netflix.
Movie starts off fine, then sometime during the movie you will see a frame feeze, then play.
Once the skipping or freezing starts things will then just get worse.
More frequent freezes untill movie just completly stops.
I have tried to fast forward through, pause, restart, etc , etc.
The movies will play fine on a $50 Pioneer player that I ordered from Walmart and will play on other less expensive players.
My old DV-37 was sometimes picky , it would not play movies that
had a feature where you could interact with the movie, I can't remeber
excactly the name of that feature.
But I learned to live with that.
I upgraded because the DV-37 just got to the point where it refused to recognize disk.
I have read many times that this problem is common on movies that have been copyed, but I am having problems with the orginals.
I take very good care of all my gear, I have good surge protectors
so I do not think it is anything I have done.
I tried cleaning the dvd's but that does not help.
Since I bought the player on a Ebay store I was offered the option to purchase a warranty through Square Trade.
Could anyone tell me if they have any Warranty help form Pioneer Elite purchased from Un-authorized dealers.
It is not a grey market item as far as I know.
Box was sealed just like all my other ELITE componets.
Please if you have any ideals I would love to hear them.
